Your vacation by the sea in Follonica

Today we’ll talk about another of the famous Maremma area for its sea, Follonica, the city suitable for both families and groups of guys, because perfectly relaxing and fun.

You can start your visit to Follonica strolling through through the city center, perhaps to do some shopping in its many shops, until you arrive on the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery while sipping a drink or eating an ice cream in one of the many that you will find in this part of town.

But in Follonica it is not only the sea but many other things, too little known, but definitely worth a visit as unique.

For art lovers, in Piazza del Popolo there is the Pinacoteca Civica of Follonica, inaugurated in 1995 and that over the years, besides being enriched with many works by contemporary artists, it has hosted important exhibitions. A unique museum of its kind is the MAGMA  (Museo delle Arti in Ghisa della Maremma), that “tells” the artistic and technological history of the steelworks of Follonica, It is set up in areas of the furnace of San Ferdinando, the oldest structure of the Ilva plant, a veritable outdoor museum.

After these visits you feel like cooling off, but with a little more adrenaline? Take a trip to “Acqua Village” and try its slides, the fun is guaranteed for young and old!

If you enjoy mountain biking perfect for you is the area where there are the medieval ruins of Pievaccia and the Caste of Valli, It located on the homonymous hill.

And after so much effort put on the costume because a swim in the sea is an absolute must!

Ovviamente non potrete non andare a far visita alle vicine Scarlino, Massa Marittima e Cala Violina, which surely we will discuss in future articles …
