Trekking on the Tuscan Coast, in the Maremma Region and excursion to the Natural Reserve and protected oasis of WWF Diaccia Botrona in Castiglione della Pescaia: visit to various environments such as the rocky coasts, the sandy beaches, the swamps and rivers. 3 star Hotel based on the gulf of Follonica between the sea and the pine forest, in front of Elba Island. Difficulty: Easy. Ideal for families.

Day 1: Arrival and Welcome. The hotel offers excellent service and very good refreshments. The city of Follonica, which extends on its own gulf, is surrounded by beautiful age-old pine forests, marvelous sandy beaches and crystal clear water. For the last consecutive years Follonica is proud to own the European Blue Flag. Follonica offers numerous amusement opportunities such as sailing, golf, mountain bike, spa resort, boat trips and cultural environmental places of interest to visit. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Breakfast and transfer to Castiglione della Pescaia ( GR ): The medieval village is one of the principal touristic summer destinations. Located in the northern part of Maremma, it is appreciated  for the sea, the splendid coasts and panoramas. Trekking to the Natural Reserve of Diaccia Botrona. This is what remains of the old lake Prile. The Diaccia Botrona reserve possesses a rare and significant ecosystem, it is a real and proper “genetic bank” of an incredible variety of living organisms, both plants and animals. The bird fauna represents more or less 200 species. Lunch in a typical restaurant and visit to the medieval village. Return to Follonica and relaxing day by the sea. Dinner.

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Parco dell’ Uccellina. The area inside the Regional Park of Maremma offers the possibility to visit various environments with a great Mediterranean sign of influence such as the rocky coasts, the sandy beaches, the swamps , the rivers and the work of the herdsmen on horses , well-known as the “ Butteri”. Very rich is the archaeological historic scenery with its grottas, the old sighting towers and the ruins of Saint Rabano Abbey. Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel . Transfer to Sterpaia and Rimigliano Park in the Val di Cornia. This 10 km long beach looks on a stunning azure sea, a precious woody habitat and dunes. The strong and wild landscape dominated by shady oak pine trees having pedestrian and cycling paths and picnic areas. Return to Follonica and and afternoon free to spend at the beach .

Day 5: Breakfast and departure. The stay can continue visiting other interesting places and natural Parks in the Maremma Region.

During all the excursions and transfers a certified guide or courier is always present. All guides are qualified and are English, German, French or Russian speaking.
