With the freezing temperatures of these days why not dream about the summer and think a little about the sea? Today we bring you in Maremma, in the small promontory of Argentario, a true paradise on earth!
If you have thought of a holiday in the Costa D’Argento you will definitely love the sea and here you will be spoiled for choice among the many hidden coves just waiting to be discovered by you. One of the most famous is Cala di Gesso reached via a path immersed in the typical Maremma nature, lasting twenty minutes, along the Argentario promontory, you will reach a real jewel of Tuscany, in front of your eyes a wonderful crystal clear water will display. Otherwise if you are an expert navigator we advise to reach the Cala, especially during high season, by boat enjoying your well-deserved relax!
A stop you must absolutely make is to the beach of Feniglia, just think that is one of the two sandy strips that combine the Argentario to the mainland! Needless to say that the water here is wonderful too, you can also stroll along the shore, enjoying a huge expanse of beach, although not absolutely lacking eateries. During the early hours of the morning or the late of the evening, in the pinewood of the Natural Reserve of Feniglia you might spot deers that sometimes come down to the beach, a true spectacle of nature!
You have been at sea, but you are not tired yet? Then you’ll have to visit Forte Stella in Porto Ercole. Walking down a scenic road you will reach this Spanish fort, dating back to 1557 in a star shape, accessible only through a drawbridge. Grab your camera because the view from Forte Stella is breathtaking! It’s also visitable in the inside, where are often organised events related to the art world.
After a day at the sea and long walks we suggest a dinner at one of the seaside towns of the archipelago like the beautiful Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, tasting maybe a fish dinner and a great wine.
Do you already feel like summer?
